The largest seaport in Belgium. It is located in the north of Antwerp, downstream of the
skelter River, with 6 entry locks. Since 2000, the annual cargo throughput of the port has
exceeded 130 million tons. In 2002, the container throughput reached 4.78 million, ranking
the 10th in the world. The main import goods are volume, apatite, mineral sand, petroleum,
wood, coal, and the main export goods are steel, machinery, railway equipment, cement, coke,
chemical products, etc.
