Located in the bay of Weishan in the southeast of Korean Peninsula, the port is southeast of the port city, adjacent to the sea of Japan. The minimum water depth of the access channel is 11.3 meters. It is the largest heavy chemical industry and shipbuilding base in South Korea. The port basically serves for industry.
